Oh My Colds, Bad Weather!

I got this malady for few days now just because I turned on the heater in my room and when I wanted hot water, I went out and got some in the living room where the temperature is colder than in my room. So there goes the story of my colds. I hope this will be gone in few days. I am drinking medication both tablets and syrup for my cough as well. Sighs!

Sunday, 08th March 2009. Today is another usual day of my life here but we had a great surprise when one of our colleauges just brought a bouquet of flowers and greeted us all women a Happy International Women’s Day. Each of us got one rose so fresh and white. We were so happy while putting it on our tables. Indeed all of us got a sweet surprise from our Italian teacher. Thanks so much D! Bon voyage and take care tomorrow morning as you begin traveling to my home sweet home country – the Philippines! Whew! How I wish I could go back home now. Oh well, there is always something to look forward to.

I woke up with another chilly and rainy morning. Today is just another usual day of my life away from home. Sometimes I feel sad and at times happy thinking of how I am able to fulfill my dreams in life. Yet these are not the end of my journey as I have so many goals which for the moment I am trying my very best to pursue everything as much as I can. I am trying to carefully build my future being careful to follow His plan for my life. After all, I am just one of His wonderful instruments so does the rest of humanity. With sinfulness and humility I always come to Him and ask for more strength and forgiveness.

Indeed a Fulfilling Day

This morning I woke up so early as what my housemate told me coz usually I wake up around lunch time on days off but this is yet another day. I have to wake up early and finish my tasks early on so I can send something to Cebu. I will surely call them tonight and tell them some funny stories at school this week. I did my tasks fast this morning and I didn’t mind about breakfast or lunch not until my housemate called me and said it’s time to eat. I then remembered I haven’t eaten brunch! Oh goodness! It’s why I can feel my stomach is grumbling. Whew!

After we had lunch at around one in the afternoon, I readily prepared myself for I have to meet Kevin our technical staff to go with me to repair my digicam and then we have to go to the post office to send some things home. Indeed, we finished on time as scheduled. And oh I forgot to mention my colleague went with us coz his digicam malfunctioned as well. After the camera store, we went separate ways. He went home while Kevin and I went to the post office. After the post office, I just thought of pizza! Yes PIZZA! Then, I told Kevin we must go back to the downtown area and have some pizza. He said of course and we went there to have some pizza despite of the very cold and rainy weather. We finished eating ‘our pizza dinner’ according to him at around 6.15 and then I went home while he went back to school. I also gave a box of Hawaiian flavored pizza to Alice, my closest staff at school.

I went home stuffed and couldn’t get my way up to the seventh floor, hahah. Oh well, as long as I am full I of course can do whatever I want! So when I arrived home, I immediately turned on my laptop and posted this yet another productive day off here in Rui An.

Just this morning when I woke up I felt a lot better for I had a very good sleep last night. At least I tried to sleep and forgot all my worries before I doze off to bed. I immediately turned on my laptop after I finished my housie chores. Then automatic programs were running and when all is done, a pop-up message from my messenger said I have six unread emails in my inbox. I checked it and I smiled from ear to ear. My brother sent me a good morning email and said it’s another email day for us. I am just simply happy to have an email buddy while I am away. This way I know what’s their situation and we can keep each other posted. Many thanks to advanced technology,

My Birthday Away from Home

Today is my birthday away from home. This is not my first though I’ve been celebrating several birthdays away from my family since I got a job most especially when I was still an IELTS instructor. I can say that I am getting used to this but this time, I am really far away from my family. Way back when I was still in my home country, I always have the luxury of time to call my parents and have long talks about anything. This time I can say everything is limited for me. I have to save as well of course. I am glad though that the people at school I am working with are so friendly and I actually feel that as if I belong to a family. I like everything at school. Since today is my special day, they really prepared something small and sweet for me. One Chinese staff just gave me a cute cake and our CM gave me a couple Mickey and Minnie with hearts. I was so touched as I said many thank yous to them. But of course nothing compares when I could have celebrated my natal day with my family. For a Filipina like me, I always value family. It’s deeply rooted I beleive for all Filipinos. Oh by the way, here is the snapshot I took of the sweet gifts I received today.

A Sense of Fulfilment

I thought today would be another hell day with my classes. However, contrary to what I thought upon waking up this morning, I had a fantastic discussion with my high flyers and trailblazers today. Whew! Upon dismissal, one parent just came up to me and said in Chinese so many thank yous for making her son love to learn English. I could really feel her heartfelt thanks and that made my day today. After all, a simple and heartfelt thank you is what matters most. It could really uplift a weary and tired soul.
