I woke up a bit late as scheduled this morning not until my friend knocked my door and said we have to go in half an hour for our wax berry picking with Little. What?! Oh yeah I have to get up and get ready for the adventure trail in the nearby wax berry farm just half an hour away from the city center. It’s owned by one of Little’s dear friend, doctor, and colleague who happens to be my friend’s student’s father. Little is the mother of Mary an HF Conversation class student. Hurrriedly, I took a quick shower and sipped coffee while getting dressed. Whew this is the first time I finished everything in just 25 minutes!
Awesome Maria!
As expected, my phone rang and when I answered it, it was Little asking if we are ready. I told her yes and we are coming! They were right next to our flat waiting in the car.
Then we ran quickly and met them downstairs. Huh! This can be one of the disadvantages of living in the 7th floor.
Oh well, at least we made it on time.
Then, we had a juicy conversation in the car with her other comrades. They are nice and sensible people to talk with. Have lots of jokes and funny stories about their English learning experiences. Also, they are well-travelled and knows lots of things in life. I have learned a lot from them today.
Thirty minutes later, we arrived in the wax berry far. We were so awed at the beauty of nature. We climbed a little and had lots of fun when some of them fell down walking three steps up and four steps down.
) Oh well what kept us moving is the excitement we felt within picking the wax berries right from the trees. Whew what a wonderful feeling!
But that wasn’t what really happened. First we filled our stomachs with wax berries and we had enough, that was the time we started filling our baskets with wax berries.
)
Indeed, I had really enjoyed this experience. Maybe this could be my first and last to pick wax berries. I hope we could have this experience again next year. ![]()
